Lest We forget
An evening of reflection, focusing on those who have suffered during periods of conflict over the past 150 years from the Crimea right up to the present day, via the First and Second World Wars, the Spanish Civil War, wars in Afghanistan and the middle east. We told the stories of local people caught up in tragedy, often in their own words, or as expressed in the poetry and songs of the era. We lit the graves of loved ones in the churchyards of St Andrews and the neighbouring public cemetery. We hope we have done them justice, and we know we have yet to uncover many more stories of interest to Clevedon residents. In remembering some of them, we are remembering them all.

An evening with Marvin Thompson
A selection of photographs from our evening at the Curzon Community Cinema in October 2021: Saili Katebe from Raise the Bar co-hosted and introduced our guest Marvin Thompson National Poetry winner 2021. Clevedon Community Bookshop and Books On The Hill were on hand to offer an array of themed books and we were also lucky to have Clevedon School students and parents with us in the audience. Students presented their own work for us all.
